NV Studio is an animation studio that blends sci-fi and fantasy elements to craft visually captivating worlds. Its style fuses soft, surreal landscapes with futuristic designs, creating a unique visual experience that draws on high-tech aesthetics, cosmic influences, and an adventurous spirit.

A new era in animation

Animation has been on a wild downward slide, and like many of you, I felt frustrated—helpless, even. But out of that anger and sadness, I posted my thoughts on LinkedIn… and it went viral. That’s when I realised— this isn’t just a personal struggle. The animation industry is in crisis worldwide.

People from the U.S., India (I love you guys!), Canada, France, Australia, Germany, and England reached out. Some offered encouragement; others shared their frustrations, even criticism and blame. I welcomed it all because it fueled my drive to do something about it.

So, with the support of passionate fans and close friends, I founded NV Studios, Inc., an independent studio that creates original content. I write, design, and board it, in addition to my full-time role as an Art Director at Disney.

Then, my incredible CGI team takes over, bringing the vision to life.

Our first project, Scratches, is an adult animated series we’re incredibly proud of. We’re taking a stand—we don’t outsource. It’s tough because U.S. labour is expensive, but we work smart. We’re using the latest technology, leveraging our experience, and moving fast.

The Talents

Nadia Vurbenova

Founder / Creator

At 25, I moved to Los Angeles, California, after graduating with an industrial design major in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Hollywood film industry grabbed my interest, and I began a career in background painting and art directing for major film studios.

I have been involved in Animation for the last 34 years (Haha! Not a typo!) As an Art Director, Production Designer and Key Background Painter on both feature films and television series, I have worked at several major film studios in Hollywood, including Walt Disney Pictures, Warner Bros. Feature and TV Animation, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Bento Box, Starz Media, DreamWorks. 2005, I was nominated for an Annie Award for Production Design for the “Kim Possible” television series. My career also includes the feature films “The Iron Giant”, directed by Brad Bird, “Space Jam,” starring Michael Jordan and the Loony Toons, Warner Bros’, “Osmosis Jones” and “Quest for Camelot.” I have been involved in numerous television productions like TMNT for Nickelodeon, Phineas and Ferb for Disney TV, Scooby Doo, Samurai Jack, Dragons, the nine realms, and The Avengers.

I have been writing original material for the last 20 years, and my passion for bringing it to the screen finds you today!

Matt Knudsen

Voice

Actor, comedian, and best-selling author Matt Knudsen (Kah-nood-sen) was born in Hawaii, raised in the Midwest, and sailed around the world as a merchant marine. After trips to Europe, Africa, and the Far East, he eventually put down his sea bag, picked up a microphone, and began performing stand-up comedy all across the country.

As an actor, Matt has shared the screen with Oscar winners Michael Douglas, Alan Arkin, Sean Penn, and more, and has been in dozens of Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning television shows like Key & Peele, Workaholics, The Big Bang Theory, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The League, NCIS, Big Love, Boston Legal, and Malcolm in the Middle. You can see him recurring as Steven in Bill Lawrence’s hit series Shrinking on Apple TV+, starring Harrison Ford and Jason Segel.

As a comedian, you’ve seen him on Conan, The Late Late Show, Last Call, and Comics Unleashed. His latest stand-up special, Good News, was produced by Dry Bar Comedy and currently has millions of views throughout their distribution network. His critically acclaimed albums The Comedy Stylings of Matt Knudsen, American, and Yes And are heard regularly on SiriusXM and Pandora radio.
